Chapter 1

"You know what? Fuck this stupid, annoying emotion called love!" Aphrodite declared passionately as she sat in her golden chair with encrusted diamonds and flowers, the unexpected outburst causing the Moon Goddess, Selene, to shoot her a very surprised look.

What had gotten into the Goddess of love this time?

Just moments ago, Selene had been lounging in the courtyards of Olympus alone, taking in the clear skies... enjoying the cool breeze, the peace and quiet— and solitude.

Then, Aphrodite had joined her... and now that peace and quiet had been tainted by the Goddess of Love's never-ending need for attention and theatrics— that, and her shrill, annoying voice.

With her serene atmosphere and moments of contemplation ruined, the lunar Goddess decided to humor the deity. "And why exactly are you fucking love today? Aren't you like... its creator?"

"That's the exact reason why, Mene." Aphrodite pointed out dramatically. "The love my famous web spins now is so different from what I used to create ages ago." She explained, a trace of sadness in her magnificent eyes.

The sadness quickly disappeared, disdain and revulsion rapidly taking its place. "I find this generation so worthless of my blessings. They are so shallow and undeserving of love—"

"I don't think that is true, Aphrodite," Selene cut her off, very much of an opposing school of thought. "I believe there a few people on earth who deserve your so called blessings. If only I—"

"If only you could what, Mene?" With her face contorted from the hammerings of an upcoming rage, the Goddess of love looked nothing like the extraordinary beauty many proclaimed her to be.

"Riddle me this," She started, her voice flowing with musical tones... as though she were singing. "Roses are red, violets are blue,

I am the Goddess of love

What in the hell are you?"

"Yes. Make me the center of your mockery with meaningless riddles as usual." Selene snapped disdainfully.

"Look, I may not be the Goddess of love, Aphrodite... but I sure as hell am not petty and pathetic enough to curse generations for the things their ancestors did." Selene spat in her face, the words surprising Aphrodite somewhat.

Selene, had for as long as the deity had known her, been the calm, pushover type among the gods, making her an easy target for bullies like herself.

Why was that changing now?

Aphrodite took a drink from the golden cup she had in her clutches, filled with Nectar, the famous elixir of the gods. "What are you talking about?" She asked the Moon Goddess, slightly confused with where the train of accusations was heading.

"I am talking about the werewolf... Killian Silvercrest," Selene answered.

"What has he done to deserve your wrath, Aphrodite? Was it not his mother who was thought to be the fairest of the land? You killed the poor she-wolf because of an opinion she didn't hold—because-because people said she was more beautiful than you!"

Selene was seething.

If it were up to her, she'd deal with vain, shallow goddesses like Aphrodite and rid the world of them.

"Come on, Mene... that was just for sport, but you must admit that it did serve as a lesson too. No one has committed such grievous offences ever since." Aphrodite shrugged with a chuckle, still failing to see how wrong her actions were.

Selene shook her dark head of curls, disgusted with the deity's attitude of nonchalance. "Then, as if that is not enough, you have taken away from all her offspring, the chance to find love."

The Lunar Goddess took her time, meaning for each word to hit their mark painfully— brutally. "Look at how far you've come, Aphro... are you trying to tell me that you haven't changed even a little bit since Queen Cenchreis of Cyprus and her daughter, Myrrha?"

Aphrodite stood up, her entire form taking on a fire-like glow.

This was it.

She had completely lost it.

"You have meddled in affairs that are none of your business, Selene. And for that, the cursed werewolf will pay. Only this time, the curse will not only affect him... but his entire pack as well."

Selene's eyes widened in disbelief.

She had hoped for a reaction, but this was definitely not what she had had in mind when she challenged the crazy goddess.

She really should have known better and reigned in her anger, but she had let it get the best of her, and now she had made things worse for the Alpha.

"What are you going to do to him?!"

The fire-like glow around Aphrodite disappeared, her beautiful countenance shifting into place once again. She had Selene where she wanted her again,

Looking up at her in unbridled fear.

"What am I going to do to him?" She repeated the question, her gaze studying her blood-red painted fingernails... the very ones that would put Cardi-B's to shame should they be placed under comparison. "Oh nothing much really, I'll just have every single wolf in his pack brutally tortured and destroyed in his presence. Then I'll have him banished to Creos, where he'll be made to spend the rest of his immortal, now Lycan life, hearing the perpetual cries of all the people he failed to save."

"You can't do that, Aphrodite," Selene pleaded. "Please, you're not that heartless."

"Oh, but I am totally that heartless... maybe even more, Selene. You should know that, since you seem to have memorized some of my lifetime achievements so well." The Goddess of love declared with a chuckle that soon faded.

"Nothing you do will get Killian out of this renewed curse, Mene... in fact, you just might make things worse for the young wolf, so I would advise you to keep your distance. You have already made things worse for him enough as is, the last thing he needs you to do is to complicate things for him even more."

With those final words and another round of that annoying chuckle, the Goddess of love disappeared in a puff of fire and sweet-smelling flowers.

Selene yelled angrily at the clouds and flung her own cup of Nectar, the golden artifact and its blood-red contents spilling onto the lush, grass-covered grounds, as though she was making a sacrifice to Gaia— the goddess of earth.

Fucking shit!

What had she done?
