Knock! Knock! Knock!
"clearing snow! Every household, come out to clear the snow!"
"Eh, let's leave that house, it belongs to Albert's family. Roan Albert is not here, you know how his wife behaves."
"You said Roan is quite good, why is he so unlucky to marry such a lazy wife? People often say 'a good man marries a lazy wife, a lazy man seeks an ambitious woman', this saying really proves to be true."
"Who knows, it's hard to tell with these things. Come on, we still need to notify the houses down the line."
As Liza Smith was in her yard clearing the accumulated snow, she heard every word as her house was just next door.
(´ο`*)))Sigh
Flash Back
After sweating and working hard for years, Sarah Robert had finally achieved financial freedom, planning to enjoy an early retirement with her days filled with scenic mountain trips, delicious food, and beautiful views.
But as fortune would have it, Sarah had an accident falling from a three story uncompleted building while saving a child. When she woke up, she had traveled from June 1, 2024 in Palm bay to December 26, 1920 in Orlando.
Sarah used to be a high-profile single lady: highly attractive, highly educated, and highly paid. Now she had become Liza Smith, a married woman with no looks, no education, and no job.
However, Sarah has been here for two days and has not met her husband, Roan Albert.
Whatever, it doesn't matter. She would meet him sooner or later. The most important thing for her now is to lose weight.
Pinching her jiggly love handles and lifting her thighs that were thicker than her former waist, Sarah felt disheartened.
If she wants to lose weight, there was no shortcut. She needs to watch her diet and exercise – eat less and move more.
Since she also want to exercise, why not join everyone in clearing the snow? It would also allow her to familiarize herself with the environment.
STARTING HERE HENCEFORTH I WILL BE MAKING USE OF LIZA SMITH FOR THE FEMALE LEAD
PRESENT
Liza Smith has always lived in the village. Because of her lazy nature, she rarely even goes to the town, not to mention going to Orlando, which is sixty kilometers away.
After marrying Roan and moving here, she barely left the house, so much so that she couldn't even recognize all the neighbors.
Roan lived in the innermost part of this neighborhood. When Liza left the yard, she swept the snow away from her doorstep.
"Liza Smith?!"
As soon as Ellora George left the yard, she saw Liza diligently sweeping the snow, which nearly made her jaw drop. Ellora thought her eyes were deceiving her, but in the entire Neighborhood, who else could be as fat as her?
"Ellora." Liza straightened up and greeted Ellora with an embarrassed smile on her face.
Ellora's husband, Sam Jackson, and Roan were in the same transport team, and the two were on good terms.
When Liza first arrived,Ellora was rather friendly towards her, but Liza actually did something like snatching her child candy.
Ellora's son, Liam Jackson, was only four years old and couldn't compete with Liza, who weighed around 160-170 Pounds. During their fight, Liam fell and cut his head.
Every child is a mother's vulnerable spot. Even if Ellora had a good temper, she wouldn't tolerate it, especially as she was not a pushover.
Ellora went to Liza's house and cursed her out, and since then, Ellora have not had anything to do with her.
Thinking back on what Liza had done, Liza's face was burning with shame. She couldn't resist cursing silently in her heart; damn it, what kind of body had she taken over?!
Ellora carefully sized up Liza and found she seemed a bit different. Liza was much more tidy and polite than before. But as soon as Ellora thought of the scar on Liam's forehead, her face became cold again, and her words were harsh. “Never mind, I can’t afford it.”
Liza was confused for a moment, but she had to say what needed to be said, “Ellora, I’m sorry, I was wrong before and I apologize. May a grown-up like you not bear grudges against a petty person like me."
Now that she had become Liza, everything related to Liza - her appearance, figure, social relationships, past….. everything about her, whether good or bad, had also become hers.
Liza could enjoy her blessing without guilt, but she also had to bear the wrongs she had made in the past.
"Yo, what's going on today, is the sun rising from the west?"
Ellora had a Surprised look on her face, but she didn't want to be confrontational. Even if she didn't speak about the relationship between her husband, Sam, and Roan, just for the sake of being neighbors, she couldn't be too harsh. Plus, they meet each other every day.
Furthermore, they could all tell that Roan is no ordinary person. Perhaps he could be promoted one day and become Sam's leader.
Even if Liza was not good, she was still Roan's wife. No matter what, they are family after all, so it is better not to offend them if they could help it.
"Alright, let bygones be bygones."
Liza has been spoiled at home and does not understand the ways of the world, but Sarah had been in the workplace and the business world for many years and was adept at observing others.
Seeing that Ellora's attitude towards her had softened, Liza wanted to inquire about Roan, but she is too shy to ask directly. Therefore, she asked indirectly, "Ellora, has the transportation team been busy recently?"
"No, there's nothing going on." Ellora, a clever woman, figured out Liza's intention and made it clear, "You want to ask about your husband, don't you?"
"Yes... Ah." Liza spoke half shyly and half worriedly, "Roan hasn't been home for several days now."
Ellora being a straightforward person, said, "aren't you theperson who drove him away?"
Liza paused for a moment and realized it was really her who drove Roan away.
Liza had heard from others that Roan was sending money out every month. After asking Roan, he said it was for a comrade's family. This made Liza unhappy and insisted that Roan must get the money back, and if he couldn't, then should not come back home.
Roan, who had long been dissatisfied of Liza behaviour, took this tantrum as the last straw. angrily, he stormed out of the house and hadn't returned back home since.
What on earth is going on?
While Sarah was still sighing about the misfortune that had led her to take on the identity of Liza, she heard Ellora shouting, "Hey, Roan, where have you been these past few days? Your wife has been asking of you from me"
Roan?!
Liza abruptly turned her head toward the direction of the alley to see a tall and straight man walking towards her in the dawn light.
His eyebrows were as dark as ink, his eyes were narrow and bright; he had a high nose bridge, and above his eyebrows were slightly protruding, making his eye sockets appear particularly deep.
His posture was rigid and straight, with broad shoulders and long legs, standing as steady as a pine tree, moving as swift as the wind.
In the beginning, Liza was somewhat in denial, unable to accept this inexplicably additional husband, but at this moment, Liza completely changed her mind, screaming internally.
This man, she could accept!
As Liza was staring unblinkingly at Roan, Roan was also looking at Liza.
Even before reaching the alley, Roan had heard Liza voice.
Roan initially thought he had heard wrongly, but it was indeed Liza.
How could she possibly get up so early and even go out to Clear snow? How could Liza apologize to Ellora and ask about him?
This was against Liza usual behavior – something must be going on.
"Ellora."
Roan greeted Ellora and stopped in front of Liza.
Their eyes met, and Liza felt a little dizzy.
Upon closer inspection, Roan was incredibly Handsome.
Looking down at his Sexy body, Liza realized that the arranged marriages of this era did have their benefits.
Roan's gaze shifted from Liza's face to her hand holding a broom, and then back to her face. Seeing Liza lips curved upwards, smiling bright at him, her round face crunched into a joyful squint, Roan quickly dropped his gaze.
Liza must be happy because she thought her money was returned?
If Liza knew not only did her wish remained unfulfilled but also... Roan wondered what other tantrum she would throw.
Sigh!
In Roan heart, Roan heaved a heavy sigh, strengthening his resolve. In a deep voice, he motioned for Liza to follow him home, "Let's go home."
