Anastasia was so nervous. She couldn't stop herself from biting her nails and her left leg kept jumping up and down. She ran all the possible scenarios in her head of what possibly could go wrong and the more she thought of it the more upset her stomach got.
"Stop it, Tas." Ethan said as he glanced at Ana as he drove them both to school. Ana turned to him and finally stopped biting her nail.
"What?" Ana asked as she finally stopped thinking of everything that could go wrong.
"Stop overthinking everything. I can see how you are psyching yourself out. You'll be fine, Tas, I swear and you know if you need anything you have me." Ethan said and laid his hand on Ana's shoulder trying his best too comfort her.
"Thanks, E." Ana said to her nephew. Jess becoming even more grateful to him as time past. No matter what she was going through Ethan was always there for her. Ethan was more then just Ana's nephew, they were best friends. There wasn't anything that Ethan didn't know about and there wasn't anything Ana didn't know about Ethan. After her mom died, Ethan was the only one that could calm Anastasia down when she had her episodes. Anastasia gave Ethan's shoulder a squeeze.
"Do you have your inhaler and medicine?" Ethan asks as he removes his hand.
"Yes. Medicine is in my bags first pocket and my inhaler is in the side of my bag." Anastasia said, giving Ethan a smile. He nods and stops the car. Anastasia packs away her phone and earphones, while Ethan opens her door. He takes her backpack and throws it over his shoulder. He helps her out and slings his arm over her shoulder.
"Come on. Let's get you settle." Ethan helps Ana find the secretary office. He gets her schedule and helps her to find her classes. Ana anxiety starts to act up again and Ethan stops her in front of him. He spins her around so that she faces him and places his hands on her shoulders.
"Come on, Tas. Just relax. it's just a new school. What's the worst that can happen?" Ethan says as Ana rolls her eyes at him.
"I can die." Anastasia says dramatically and this time Ethan rolls his eyes at her. He starts pushing her back towards her first class.
"Tas, if you die in this country for any other reason than old age, you'll be the first in the last 100 years." Ethan teases her and continuous to push her back.
"Fine, but if I do you'll have to admit that I was right at my funeral." Anastasia jokes and they both laugh, but they both stop after Ethan accidentally pushes Anastasia into a person, leaving the class Ana was meant to enter.
"Sorry." Both Ethan and Anastasia say to the person. The man coming out of the class looks stunned and keeps his eyes on Ana and only Ana. The man was extremely breathtaking. He was tall and had a strong built. He had a handsome face with gorgeous blue eyes and a square jaw. Ethan pulled Anastasia next to him and slang his arm over her shoulder again.
"Hey, Alex. This is my cousin - Anastasia, but everyone just calls her Ana." Ethan says and introduce them to one another. Anastasia smiles at Alex and stick out her hand for him to shake. He looks at her, then down at her hand and then back up at her. The shocked expression never leaving his face. Ana keeps her hand out stretched awkwardly, waiting for him to take it. But he never does, instead he ignores her entirely and walks away. Ethan and Ana stare at his retreating figure then look at one another.
"Does he not like me?" Ana asked confused as to what just happened.
"No, Alex is a cool, nice dude. Maybe we just caught him at a bad time." Ethan tried to explain, but questioned his behavior. He was not use to his friend weird actions. Ethan rather shock it off and refocused on his cousin. He led her into her class and they both joked and teased one another about stupid things. Once the bell rang, Ana's anxiety started to kick in.
"Remember you'll be fine and if you really feel like you can't handle me. Just give me a call I'll be here." Ethan says again trying to calm her down. He kisses her forehead and leaves. Anastasia takes a few deep breaths and keeps her eyes on her closed book. Trying to avoid the other students eyes. She only looks up once someone takes the seat next to her.
"Hey, I am Christena Williams." The girl sitting next to her says and sticks out her hand. Ana looks up to see a gorgeous blond girl. She has a cute button nose and an athletes body. Her skin is sun kissed and her eyes are a beautiful blue hue. Christena's eyes reminded her of Alex's shocked eyes. They both also had a similar face structure. It was clear they were family in some manner, but as Anastasia stared at the girl next to her all she could think of was the man that walked away from her.
