“You lowly bitch! How dare you steal the food prepared for our Alpha!”
A hard kick landed on my stomach, making me close my eyes in pain. But I was still trying to explain, “No...I didn’t. I brought it from home, it's what my mom did for my birth...”
“How dare you talk back! You're just an omega and the lowest one."
Another harsh slap made my head fall down on the floor. I slowly opened my eyes when warm blood rolled down my forehead and met her mocking gaze.
Bracky Mills, daughter of Beta and my biggest bully. She never liked to let my life easy.
"Girls, obviously this shameless thief needs some discipline." She nodded at her minions and then they approached me.
I screamed in fear when one of them grabbed my hair. I wanted to resist but someone had pressed my head inside the dirty water that omega maids used to wash the mops.
The muddy water instantly choked into my lungs. I tried to dispel their evil hands as the water made me breathless. But surely, they had no intention to let go of me.
In this pack, being bullied by those spoiled girls had become commonplace for me.
No one would give a helping hand. No one would listen to me.
Because in their eyes, I, Crystal Roger, was just an orphan of unknown origin. Never really belonging to this pack.
Yes, I was abandoned by my parents, I was left over in a jungle without any memory of my parents. It was my foster mother who saved me from some rogues later.
My foster mom was the only sunshine in my dark life. She tried her best to give me a home but this pack never stopped treating me like garbage.
They made fun of my origin, used me as the cheapest servant, and bullied me as they wanted. If it weren't for my mom, who was sick years ago and needed medical support here, I would have escaped this hell with her long ago.
As the air got thinner and thinner, I felt my soul leaving me. Death was right before my eyes but I knew they would not let me die so easily. And the next moment, they did pull my head up.
I gasped for air eagerly regardless of what a mess I looked like now. My entire dress was soaked with dirty water and my hair was also messed up. I could clearly hear them laughing as if I was doing a show for them.
"Oh, she smells so stinky, like rotten pork." One girl giggled as she said. Her words amused Bracky apparently, who then decided to show me some 'mercy'.
"Hey, pig girl. Seeing that I am in a good mood today, I can mercifully forgive your mistake of stealing the cupcake, as long as..." She smirked at me and said.
"You agree to crawl the hall for a round while oinking like a pig."
It brought a burst of laughter in her minion, who immediately complimented Bracky for her genius and kindness. I watched their drama coldly as humiliation boiled in my vein.
"I reject." I gritted my teeth, "I didn’t steal anything! I don’t have to do this.”
Bracky's smile chilled down at once and she then said viciously, "Looks like you didn't suffer enough."
I screamed again as someone grabbed my hair harshly. The next moment my head was inside the water again but this time, I was prepared. With all the power I had, I broke free of their hands and pulled my head back.
I was going to warn them that the party would start soon and no one had the guts to annoy Alpha on such a big day, but something caught their attention first.
“Oh, looks like I stepped on something.” A girl said, and that’s when with my blurry vision, I noticed my hairpin in her hand, and instantly, my eyes went wide. It was my birthday gift my mom gave me this morning!
“No! That’s mine.” I said and immediately tried to get it, but Bracky immediately kicked my hands away and took that hairpin with a devilish smirk.
“Look at this, a butterfly hairpin? It looks so cheap! Did you steal it too?” Bracky said, but now it was making me mad as I snapped, “I didn’t steal it. It’s mine. Give it back to me!”
I tried to get it, but I couldn’t reach her height when l was on the ground and she held it high. Unknowingly I held the hem of her dress and the next moment I flew two meters away when a harsh kick landed on my stomach.
“You disgusting whore! How dare you touch me? You're dead bitch!" Bracky widened her eyes in anger before slapping me again, and this time she didn't stop.
"Touch me with your dirty hand one more time, huh? You’ll definitely be dead." She roared angrily and then started kicking me hard. Even her minions started beating me.
I had to curl up to protect myself. I could feel my bone broken and my wolf whimpering inside.
'Crystal, I'm sorry. Damn, I hope I could shift to protect you!' I heard my wolf, Cassie apologize to me inside my head.
I squeezed out a feeble smile, trying to appease her. No one knew that I had already got my wolf two years ago, but for some reason, I could not shift.
It increased others' bullying of me and Cassie's guilt. Yet, in my mind, Cassie was still a rare gift from the Goddess to me. At least I'm not alone anymore.
I felt blood rushing to my throat as another kick struck. When I thought I was about to meet death, she finally stopped when someone exclaimed.
"Alpha will be at the gate soon!"
Finally, I breathed a sigh of relief. It was a big day that Alpha would announce his son Luke Geoge as the next Alpha of this pack.
It was also said that Luke would announce someone to be his Luna tonight.
Bracky always dreamed to be that person. Nothing would be more important for her than welcoming her prince.
Sure enough, she stopped, "Oh, Luke is coming, I can't meet him with my dirty hands."
She jerked off my hair and said in a disgusted tone, "But don't think I'm done here. After the party, after Luke announces me as his Luna, I'll definitely turn you into the whore of the pack!"
Her evil curse made my eyes go wide in fear.
The whore of the pack? Did she have to hate me so much? What the hell had I done wrong?
I was left on the ground only to watch her giggle loudly while walking away with her high heels. The bitterness slowly wrapped around my heart. Goddess, when would this hellish day come to an end?
'Maybe when we find our mate.' Cassie tried to be positive but I just let out a bitter laugh as I slowly climbed up.
Mate? Who would accept us as his mate in this pack?
I silently looked around and even though Bracky and her minions had left, not a single person showed any concerned signals to me.
'No one likes me here, Cassie.' I carefully covered my injured area as I limped to clean up the floor and returned to the utility room.
I simply cleaned my wounds but had no change of clothes, and no other omega would be willing to lend me one. Looking at my bad appearance in the broken mirror, I pulled out a sarcastic smile.
'Who would like this kind of me? Even if our mate is an outsider, I doubt very much that he would accept us.'
'You should trust the Moon Goddess, Crystal.' Cassie was still positive and I was too tired to answer.
It was a big occasion tonight and a lower omega like me was not allowed to show up before others. The head maid asked me to stay in the utility room until the party was over. The cleanup would await me.
However, my heart was still haunted by Bracky's curse no matter how calm I pretended to be. What if she became the new Luna at the end? Should I have fled home earlier?
Just in case, I decided to observe the situation from afar. However, I froze in my steps when I was close to the front hall. A pleasing fragrance rushed through my nose, making my eyebrows squint.
It was a heavenly scent, making my entire body excited! Even I felt my vagina getting wet!
My heart was pounding rapidly when Cassie was literally dancing in excitement, ‘We have to go there, Crystal!’
'No.' I shook my head as I suddenly realized what Cassie might be expecting, ‘Cassie, you know it better that I’ll be dead meat if Alpha or Bracky sees me!’
'Just a glance! Don't you want to see what appeals to us?'
I didn’t even allow Cassie to continue as my heart was thumping rapidly after seeing the hall door slowly opening.
I instantly turned back to leave as soon as possible, but suddenly I bumped into someone and took a step back as I heard someone roaring.
“You lowly Omega! Do you even know how much this dress cost and from where I got it? You dared to ruin my dress?”
Saying it, abruptly, she kicked me hard on my stomach, it was such a sudden kick that I couldn’t control my body, and the next moment, a scream left my mouth, and I felt pain all over my body as I was rolling down through the stairs.
My vision was black in pain, but finally, I fell on the ground with a loud thud when my hands fell on something soft.
I winched in pain as I was dying in pain, but suddenly my fingers came into touch with a skin, a hot skin that gave me goosebumps and immediately made me open my eyes as the little touch brought sparks flying around me.
Even the entire place was unexpectedly silent, but my wolf and body were on fire. My eyes went wide when I realized I was lying on the feet of LUKE! Our future Alpha!
My eyes fell on the deep ocean blue eyes of Luke, and his eyes were also locked on me, and that’s it. Instantly I saw fire in his eyes, and I gasped hard.
The next second our wolfs simultaneously says one word.
“MATE!”
