Chapter 1

"What the heck, Ava?" Every time we sit down at a table, surrounded by a lovely dinner, all I hear from you is a continuous stream of complete rubbish. It's as if you've taken it upon yourself to convert our shared experiences into a carnival of information. You seem to toss forth outlandish comments and half-baked ideas on purpose, almost as if you're trying to elicit a reaction from me, to bring out the worst in me. If you truly have nothing significant or useful to add to our conversation, why not simply enjoy the dinner in peaceful silence? The entire scenario is irritating, and I can't help but feel a sense of frustration rising to the surface. This date was a waste of my valuable time. Tears streamed down Ava's cheeks as she comprehended what she had heard. "I just asked a question," she stated in a soft, quiet, and melancholy voice. Her body began to quake from terror. "Do you need to be that mean? "And so," he added, his voice a tight whisper as he struggled to conceal his frustration, "is this really all you have to ask me?" Can't you be mature like other women? They do not bother their spouses with petty questions that are solely intended to irritate them. "Can't you see the turmoil your words cause within me?" His eyes fixed on hers, conveying a mix of disappointment and a yearning desire for understanding. They know when to ask a question and when not to, but you are incredible; whatever comes to mind, you just say it without hesitation. "You are an adult, but you behave like a child." Julian stood up quickly and left the restaurant, leaving Ava behind. Eva, still reeling from the argument, sat quietly at the table, wrestling with her emotions. She couldn't shake the sense that maybe she was to blame for the tension that had just arisen. Julian had always shown her kindness and affection. From the start, he was attentive and caring, continuously making her feel valued. He would go out of his way to fulfill her desires, viewing them as his top priority. However, everything appeared to have changed overnight. He became distant and cold, leaving her perplexed and saddened by his abrupt change in conduct. What had happened to the gentle, loving man she once knew? She lost her appetite and struggled to eat even her favorite meals. As she was walking home, a heavy feeling of dread crept into her gut, reflecting her rising sense of worry. Every night, she lay awake, staring at the ceiling and reflecting about what had led her to this point. Her mind raced with ideas of how she could change her situation. Will she be able to get the much-needed reprieve tomorrow, or will she be stuck with the same oppressive feelings? She felt uneasy and restless as the uncertainty hung over her like a black cloud, its weight bearing down on her chest. Her discomfort grew worse with every hour that went by, making it difficult for her to concentrate on anything but the nagging concern that had been ingrained in her.
