"What was the Warren Family thinking? Tangible assets worth over a hundred million just for a marriage proposal to a vegetable state man?"
In Aquamere, a city, within the White Family's private villa, Luna White is laying on the couch, scrolling through the day's news on her phone.
"Who would willingly give their lovely daughter to a vegetable man? Isn't that so, sis?"
Rolling off the sofa, she approaches her sister sitting across in a gossiping nature, showing Evelyn White what’s on her phone screen.
"The Warren Family? Theodore Warren?" Evelyn White receives the phone, staring at the screen as she murmurs out.
"Yes, that's right! The Theodore Warren from our Aquamere's number one business empire, the Warren Group!"
Luna White props her head on Evelyn's lap, waving her legs nonchalantly while chattering about the recent events happening within the Warren Family.
"A while ago, the only heir to the Warren Group, Theodore Warren, had a car accident, didn't he? I hear when they got him to the hospital he was covered in blood, been unconscious ever since."
"And word has it, there's little possibility of Theodore Warren waking up. It looks like this may just be his life now. So the old Warren master is searching for a wife for him, hoping to find him a lifelong caretaker..."
Before she can finish, her father, Clayton White interrupts, “What kind of speech is that! I’ve told you countless times not to gossip behind people!”
Luna sticks out her tongue and murmurs back quietly, "What? I'm not wrong. Isn't he just marrying under the pretense to find a lifelong caretaker?"
"Honey, your father is right. Loose lips sink ships; we can't afford to mess with the Warren Family..." Mother Lyra White advises in a soft voice.
Luna is a bit disgruntled and tries to pull Evelyn onto her side, only to find Evelyn White in a daze while looking at the phone screen.
"Eh, sis, it's just a piece of news. Why are you taking it so seriously?" she asks curiously. "Don't tell me you want to marry him?"
"Hmm, I do want to marry him," Evelyn nods.
Upon hearing this, Clayton and Lyra's expressions drastically changes.
The White Family, although not as wealthy as the Warren Family, is still a high-profile family in Aquamere. They had never contemplated a marriage alliance with the Warren Family.
Evelyn suddenly throws this bombshell, leaving them shocked and speechless for a while.
Luna had previously asked casually. Still, she hadn't expected her older sister to take her words seriously and immediately springs up from the sofa.
"Sis! Are to joking? Theodore Warren may never wake up! No, I don't agree! I certainly don't want a 'vegetative' brother-in-law!"
"Yeah, Honey, don't act impulsive. Our White Family doesn't have any interaction with the Warren Family, and even if there are to be a marriage alliance, it shouldn’t involve us. We should remain out of this matter!" Lyra White hurriedly advises.
Clayton White is nodding his head incessantly in agreement.
The Warren Family is now akin to a burning pit, and the White Family do not want to see Evelyn White jumping into it.
"Dad, Mom, I want to marry Theodore Warren, and I hope you will respect my decision." Evelyn says seriously.
Having said that, she takes out her cell phone and begins to fiddle with it, without saying another word.
Her mom couldn’t catch her breath, almost fainting.
Her father anxiously says, "My Sweetie, why? You don’t even know Theodore Warren. Even if the Warren Family is willing to offer hundreds of millions as a dowry, your mother and I don't want to ruin your happiness for life! I disagree, I absolutely disagree!"
Clayton is very firm in his stance.
Luna also has a pleading expression, hoping her sister could change her mind.
"Dad, Mom, it's done. I've already registered." Evelyn waves her mobile phone.

The couple look at each other, both sighing reluctantly. Even though they don't fancy her decision, they have to accept it.
Clayton stays silent for a good while before he grudgingly nods in agreement.
A child grown up must make their own decisions.
Since they could not dissuade their daughter, they have no choice but to respect her decision.
Clayton thinks, if Evelyn had a hard time in the Warren Family in the future, he could just bring her back home and take care of her for a lifetime. No matter what, Evelyn White is his most beloved daughter!
