"Don't I have a say here?" Elena Black yelled in fury. This was her life ever since she was born everything had been planned. What to wear, what to dress, drink, and even now her own marriage.
Being mad was an understatement she was burning in rage as she stared at her parents.
"We have to do this the elders agreed that this was the best decision its now time to end the war between vampires and werewolves." Her mother said.
"F**k the vampires, werewolves, and that marriage." She yelled as she ran back to her room. She knew it wasn't going to help but she still did at least a part of her rage and anger had subsided.
She was the only dhampir in their kingdom so she was heavily guarded and couldn't afford to make any mistakes that's what they all thought. Despite being a half-vampire and half-human she didn't have any powers she was just a normal girl which made her kind of useless.
Her mother was a human who fell in love with a vampire and that's how it lead to Elena.
Elena took out her drawing book which was the only thing that could take away her anger. She thought about what her parents had said something about a royal duty yada yada yada in anger she threw the book away. Why was she the one to be sacrificed? She had just turned twenty-three and was not ready for marriage.
Like every normal girl, they wanted to fall in love and then get married but that was just a dream for her. Everyone could experience that but not her. Seeing her parent's love she wanted the same for her but that seemed impossible.
She sighed heavily and then walked toward her window should she just run away. She thought. Why should she sacrifice herself for the entire kingdom?
She finally made up her mind to run away. But run away where to?
"Anywhere but here," She uttered under her breath. She walked to the closet and then took out a bedsheet she tied knots together and then walked to the window. Seeing her magnificent plan she smiled in awe at least she had brains despite everything.
"Young Miss, you can't do that what if you hurt yourself?"
Ellena turned her head and then saw Risper one of her maids. Risper has been serving her and taking care of her for the longest time she could remember. She spent more time with her more than with her own parents.
"It's not that bad," She added. Seeing her silence she spoke again," How about you tell the Queen about me coming with you am sure you will be comfortable with that right?"
Ellena instantly agreed at least with Risper around she would have a companion she finally had abit of hope in her.
"I'll pack up your things now." Risper also felt quite reluctant she couldn't bear to part with the little princess. She was used to serving her. She skipped happily heading towards where her parents were.
"Ellena..." Her mum called as soon as they spotted her.
"I agree on one condition."
"Fine, whatever you want," Her mum replied.
"I want to keep my two maids."
"Okay."
.....
"Are we here?" She asked staring at the large mansion.
"Yeah, I heard stories about the Alpha, I heard he is a brutal man," Risper whispered.
"Shouldn't he come for me? something of the sort?"
"If I were you, I wouldn't want that."
"And why is that?" Elena asked curiously. Risper filled her head with a lot of nonsense. After a while, she sighed and then said," Let's just go how bad can it be?"
Risper walked towards the main house. Compared to their mansion it's bigger but that didn't scare Elena as she was raised on a silver spoon.
"Are you sure we are here?"
"Yes positive."
"Oooh, Princess Elena right?" They both turned toward the voice and then nodded in acknowledgment. They stared at the handsome man in silence could he be the Alpha? They both thought. But why was he so polite? Didn't they say that he was harsh and brutal? But the next statement shut them up.
"I wasn't expecting to see you till tomorrow," He said, "My name is Logan am also the beta."
"Nice to meet you Elena and this is my friend and also my helper Risper...If I may ask where is my room?"
"Follow me,"
As they walked, Elena stared around the mansion was quite old and it seemed to have been renovated recently but the designs were exquisitely displayed. They arrived a the end of the hall.
"This is your room, feel free to walk around after settling yourself I'll be around if you need anything." After that, he walked away. Since he didn't mention about the Alpha or 'her husband' she saw no need of saying it so she walked inside the room.
"When is Sally coming back?"
"Am not sure Your Highness."
Sally was her second maid both of them had bonded together and were more of sisters but they still fulfilled their duties.
"Don't call me that."
"Okay, I was just joking."
"Wait, don't sit first let me change it to the normal bedsheets that you love," She yelled stopping her from sitting on the bed. She walked around the room staring at the designs it wasn't bad itself but was a bit dull but that could do for now.
....
It was almost a week but she had not yet seen her so-called 'husband'. She felt quite relieved and peaceful as she did not have anything to do especially with Risper around she spent her days drawing. No one kept tabs on her which was quite nice for a start but that didn't mean she was okay.
She missed her mother's constant nagging. She had yet to adapt to the place.
"When do you think we will meet your husband? It's almost a week," Irene asked as she stared at Elena who was busy sketching.
"How should I know?"
"Don't you care even a tiny bit? Doesn't it bother you?"
"I don't even know him why should I care?" She replied absentmindedly.
"Ooh really what do you want to know about me, my dear wife?" They all turned toward the voice in shock.
