3RD PERSON POV
It was that time of the year, the time when the young ones would be given a greater fate and a discovery of their wolf. There was a ritual that was held for those of the age 16 in the twilight pack, everyone would assemble at the pack house to come in contact with the crystal ball that was blessed by the moon Goddess herself.
This crystal ball was in the pack house and it was able to reveal the wolf of the young one and even bless them with more abilities.
It was the first period of the year and everyone was happy that the time for the ritual had finally come, they all wore their best clothes to the ceremony, all eager for the revelation of their inner being.
The twin daughters of the twilight pack, Erin and Kiara had just turned 16 and they were able to take part in the ceremony. Their parents were very much Happy and we're eager to see the wolf of their daughters,
"Are the girls ready Jade?" Derek asked his beloved wife who was still getting ready in front of the mirror, "how can they be ready when you're not even ready?" He rolls his eyes at his wife who was still applying her makeup,
"You should never rush a woman when she is getting ready, if we come out looking like witches you would shout at us, if we take our time, you would still shout at us despite looking good." She scolds him before smiling satisfactorily at herself, "how do I look?"
"The same." He drags the skin around his eyes downward and sticks out his tongue, angering his Luna,
"All that work for no compliment?" Her eyes twitch in anger while he runs out of the room before she explodes on him.
The moon was already overhead, signifying the time for the ritual was now. Everyone gathered at the courthouse, both alpha and Luna, Erin, the older daughter, was kicking the ceremony off.
She walked confidently to the glowing crystal ball that was soaked in the moonlight and she put her hand on it. The orb glows a very bright light and the image of a white wolf with black claws appears, everyone is amazed and Erin instantly feels a connection to the wolf. She touches the ball once more and energy is transferred from it into her body, and the image of the wolf vanishes too.
Everyone erupts with praise and she could feel her pride go through the roof, her parents were more than elated that she had such a beautiful and powerful wolf. Jade could tell that the moon Goddess was playing favorites by giving Erin that kind of wolf.
She looks around, but she couldn't see Kiara, it was her turn to meet her wolf, so where is she?
"Baby, have you seen Kiara anywhere?" She whispers to her husband and he leans closer to respond,
"I was just about to ask you the same, Erin spends more time getting ready so she can't still be dressing up." He whispers back, "will you go look for her?" He proposes and she nods, going to find her other child. She just hoped she wasn't in any sort of trouble.
Kiara was far away, she didn't want to attend the ceremony out of fear of being wolfless. She was sitting all by herself in the garden her mother and she created together when she was much younger. They even made a little pond for birds and ducks to live and thrive in. It was her safe haven when things got out of hand for her.
The moon brought its reflection to view at the center of the pond and she couldn't stop herself from throwing rocks at it, heavily letting out sighs of exasperation.
Jade knew her baby girl could only be in one place and she went there straight. She sees Kiara pulled to her knees and throwing rocks into the water. Her eyes soften tremendously and she moves closer to her daughter,
"Baby are you alright?" She asks her but her only response was another heavy sigh, Jade knew it would be a long night so she dropped her body beside her daughter's and grabbed a rock, "I can throw better than you." She brags and throws the rock at the center of the moon's reflection, "can you make a shot like that?"
"Does it matter mom?" Her eyes are heavy with sadness, throwing another rock at the reflection, "whether we have a wolf or not we are all still from the moon Goddess, so why should we discriminate?" She speaks the words in her heart,
"Yes you are right, I wish that you would be more clear with me Kiara, why didn't you come for the ceremony? Everyone was waiting for you." She shows concern, intimate concern.
Kiara looks at the green in her mother's eyes, the very thing that earned her the name, and embraces her out of the blue, "what's wrong with you baby?" She hugs her back with as much love.
"What if I don't have a wolf mom? I haven't been able to feel anything, nothing at all," she laments with tears in her voice, "what if when I touch it, nothing happens, what would everyone say about that? What would everyone say about you and dad?" Her head hangs in defeat but Jade raises it,
"A princess should never hang her head, it is forbidden." She wipes her daughter's tears, "I understand your concern but you haven't even tried it yet, how will you conclude on something you have never done?" But Kiara was still wary, Erin's words haunted her, her sister knew she was wolf-less and didn't dare a day to make fun of her.
Jade was so sure her daughter had a wolf since she was a descendant of the blood moon, no wolf that belonged to the clan was without a wolf, it was just not possible. She felt Kiara was fearing something that wasn't even real and it was hurting her big time.
"But what if I don't have a wolf mom?" Her gaze was enough to pass through Jade's heart, but not enough to put words in her mouth because she knew her daughter had a wolf. So she didn't answer.
What could she say?
